Melanie Porter (Raven-Symone) is about to graduate from high school and she really wants to go to Georgetown University. However, her over-protective father (Martin Lawrence) wants her to go to Northwestern University because it's much closer to home. He joins her on a road trip to different colleges with her friends Nancy (Brenda Song) and Katie (Margo Harshman). What starts off as a nightmare becomes a fun, bonding experience.
This 2008 film was directed by Roger Kumble, and released by Walt Disney Pictures.
I'm huge fan of Raven and always wanted to work with her again. (I did a little role on the "That's So Raven" pilot). So when this movie came along, it didn't even matter to me what kind of role it was, I wanted to do it.
I had such an amazing time filming this. I got to work with Roger Kumble, who directed one of my favorite movies, "Cruel Intentions." It was a real learning experience, and for us girls it really was a roadtrip. We were in that little Prius for a whole month!
